"For me, teaching is and always been a holy activity. It’s about watching God’s people delight in God’s truth—and that’s pretty wonderful! Sometimes it’s enough to get out of God’s way. But the other part of teaching is the challenge to look together at the texts, the insights and problems and mysteries and find meaning together. Day by day, theology challenges experience and experience challenges theology. Our faith grows and deepens and opens up new mysteries. Teaching is a privilege and I am daily grateful."
